ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR PAINTINGS
All subject matter is painted from live specimens many of which have come from my gardens or I have started from seed or bulb.
.
My preferred medium is transparent watercolor rendered on various hot press papers, vellum (calfskin) and parchment (sheepskin).
.
Original paintings are framed using only archival materials free from chemicals that could cause damage and alteration to
the papers or especially the skins. Conservation glass is used which dramatically cuts down on ultra violet light preventing fading especially warm colors which are usually the first to be affected. Plexiglass is used only when mandatted by exhibition committees.
